Photojournalism
Style
Photojournalism is the single most popular style of
wedding photography today. But, we at Freeform Wedding
Photography don't say that we photograph with a "photojournalism
style". Instead we say
that we ARE photojournalists.
What
does it mean to be a photojournalist?
To be a photojournalist is to observe and document
the world, ultimately recording reality and revealing
truth. Basically, a photojournalist uses images to
tell a story, all the while attempting not to interfere
or influence the natural flow of events.
Capturing the true personality of
a subject ... their essence ... this is what a photojournalist
does best.
Our Approach
Our photographic style is a marriage of photojournalism
or documentary photography and portraiture. We will
primarily document the event as it happens but we
don't believe in strictly adhering to the photojournalism
style is the right way to go for wedding photography.
A combination of styles will offer the best representation
of your day. All in all, you'll find that we photograph
events as they happen with a limited amount of posing
and direction. We have great reflexes and can capture
the beauty and subtlety within candid moments.
The Wedding
Day
Every wedding day is full of fantastic photo opportunities.
Our goal is to photograph the couple throughout the
ENTIRE day, from traveling with the bride and bridesmaids
for their hair appointments in the morning to the
good-bye waves as the limo carries the couple off
into the night.
Our major photographic
strengths, include:
- The ability to
capture personalities
- An eye for subtle
details
- Quick photojournalistic
reflexes
- Experience photographing
candid moments
- The vision to create
a photo essay of your entire day
